BUYER’S NOTE 01 · 4 min read

# A better partnership starts with a clearer brief.

The practical details that turn an initial conversation into a useful product discussion.

## Start with your channel

An independent pet store and a private-label buyer may need very different assortments. Tell us who the range is for, how you plan to sell it, and the country or region where the products will be offered.

## Define the product, then the packaging

Include your preferred food format, recipe direction and pack size. Distinguish individual unit size from retail multipack and shipping case requirements. Artwork and language requirements should be discussed separately from the formula.

## Put the commercial questions in writing

Share your estimated order quantity, preferred timing and the documents your import team needs. MOQ, sampling, customization, production availability and delivery dates must be confirmed for the specific project. They are not fixed promises on this website.

## Leave room for a useful first conversation

If your brief is still taking shape, say so. A shortlist of formats and a clear description of your channel gives the Dingpaws team a useful starting point.
